Some Langara students say they would drive part-time for the incoming ride-hailing companies because they have flexible schedules.

With the implementation of ridesharing in B.C. only a few months away, one mayor in the Lower Mainland refuses to be swayed in his opposition to this mobility alternative.

New Westminster Mayor Jonathan Coté supports the entry of ride-hailing services into the region as long as they are subject to the same regulatory and operational requirements that govern taxi and limo services.
